HKMAG Announcements and Law Updates

New HKMAG committee

A Special General Meeting of the Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group (HKMAG) was held on 11 April 2023. At the Meeting, Full Members agreed to amend the By-laws of HKMAG to expand the Committee to 7 members, introduce the concept of co-opted members of the Committee and Sub-committees, and create a role for Immediate Past Presidents. Nominations for Committee membership had been received from 7 Full Members. Since the maximum number of 7 could be elected to the Committee, Full Members agreed that no election was necessary.

A meeting of the Committee took place on 17 April 2023 after the Special General Meeting, and the President of HKMAG, other officers and the Chairmen of the Sub-Committees were elected.

The Committee would like to thank Arthur Bowring, Immediate Past President, Chris Howse, retired Secretary and Andrew Sheppard, retired Committee Member, for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the development of HKMAG as a recognized independent arbitration body.
