MOU on Cooperation and Promotion of the Use of Maritime Arbitration in the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District Free Trade Zone Pilot Zone, Xiamen, Fujian, PRC
The Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group ("HKMAG")(1) is delighted to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") on cooperation and promotion of the use of maritime arbitration and mediation in the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District Free Trade Zone Pilot Zone, Xiamen (“MSRCLD”)(2) has been entered into between the Administration of China (Fujian Xiamen) Pilot Free Trade Zone and HKMAG.
The MOU was signed on 7 September 2022 during the 2nd Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District Forum.
The MOU signifies our commitment to promote the use of arbitration and mediation to resolve maritime and trade disputes in Mainland China. We very much look forward to working closely with the Administration of China (Fujian Xiamen) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
(1) HKMAG is an independent arbitration institution specializing in handling international maritime and trade disputes. It offers cost and time efficient dispute resolution services that align with international standards to users.
(2) MSRCLD FTZ Pilot Zone locates in the free trade zone of Xiamen, Fujian. Fujian is a core area for the 21st Maritime Silk Road and an important node of the Belt and Road Initiatives. MSRCLD strives to develop itself as an international legal service centre with particular focus on maritime and commercial matters.
