MOU on Cooperation and Promotion of the Use of Maritime Arbitration in the Greater Bay Area

The Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group ("HKMAG") is delighted to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") on cooperation and promotion of the use of maritime arbitration in the Greater Bay Area ("GBA") has been entered into between China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Hong Kong Arbitration Center, the China Maritime Arbitration Commission Hong Kong Arbitration Center, the Guangzhou Arbitration Court of International Shipping, the Maritime Arbitration Center of Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and the Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group.

The MOU was signed on 1 November 2021 during the Greater Bay Maritime Forum ("GBA Forum") organised by the Hong Kong Shipowners Association. The GBA Forum was one of the major events of the Hong Kong Maritime Week 2021.

The MOU aims to foster cooperation among the arbitral bodies on the promotion of the use of maritime arbitration in the GBA. This is an important development of the business of HKMAG and we very much look forward to working closely with our partners.
