HKMAG Recent Event Reports

HKMAG Vice President Danny Mok, Sai Kit, recently spoke at the following two events:

1) An online forum between Ningbo and Hong Kong on shipping services (17 November 2020)

The online forum was jointly organised by the Ningbo Government, the Ningbo Service Industry Development Bureau, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Shippers' Council. It was held on 17 November 2020 and was attended by about 50 representatives from the shipping and logistics sector of Ningbo. Our full member Danny Mok attended the forum and made a short presentation on why choosing Hong Kong as an arbitration seat for resolving maritime disputes. Danny briefly discussed the strengths of Hong Kong maritime arbitration and introduced HKMAG, the use of HKMAG arbitration and the newly published BIMCO Law and Arbitration Clause 2020.

(2) CILTHK 2-Day course on "Law of Contract: An Update & Practical Considerations" (14 & 22 November 2020)

The course was jointly organised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Association of Risk Management and Safety, the HKIE Logistics & Transportation Division, the HKIE Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture & Chemical Division, the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Purchasing and Supply of Hong Kong and was held online on 14 & 22 November 2020. Our full member Danny Mok participated the course as one of the two speakers. The other speaker was Professor Albert Leung. Danny spoke on 22 November 2020 and the topics he covered were "Performance Guarantees and their related problems" and "Repudiation and things you need to know". The course was attended by around 280 attendees.
